Clever Little Bag – The new ecological shoebox

Slowly but surely, the fashion industry is committed to sustainable development. A pioneer in the field, Puma has just revealed the stunning design of a new shoe box significantly more environmentally friendly than traditional packaging.

Designed by industrial designer Yves Behar, the studio Fuseproject, the box becomes a “smart bag”. We forget the highly polluting plastic bag: a way to cover PET (thermoplastic polymer), recycled cardboard box containing a non-covered the usual plastic.

This technological feat has required three years of research. It will help reduce paper consumption by 65% in the manufacture of such boxes, and carbon emissions of 10 tons per year. 275 tons of plastics will also be saved by eliminating the traditional shopping bag.Eventually, the packaging of branded apparel should also go all green.
